What kind of car does 100,000 baht get you?
100,000 baht buys a car that really drives, but almost everything is 15 to 20 years old with over 200,000 km on the clock. At this budget the condition of the individual car matters far more than the brand or model. An ordinary model that the owner looked after well beats a famous model that was neglected.
There are not many choices at this budget and they sell fast. Cars that owners used themselves and sell themselves often come in better condition for the same price, because there is no middleman markup added on.
Models and years within 100,000 baht
Toyota Vios
60,000-100,000 bahtSmall sedan · 2003-2010
Cheap parts available everywhere, and garages all over the country can fix it. The lowest-risk choice at this budget.
Check Toyota has recalled cars from these years to replace the airbag units. Give the chassis number to a Toyota service center and check whether the replacement has been done.
Honda City
45,000-100,000 bahtSmall sedan · 2002-2008
Fuel efficient, with a roomy cabin for the size of the car. A fair number to choose from.
Honda Jazz
75,000-100,000 bahtHatchback · 2004-2007
The seats fold several ways, so it carries more than a sedan of the same size.
Check If it has a CVT gearbox, ask for the transmission fluid change history, and test drive it to feel for shuddering or the revs hanging when pulling away.
Nissan March
70,000-100,000 bahtEco car · 2010-2012
The youngest cars in this budget group. Fuel efficient with low running costs.

Toyota Altis
50,000-100,000 bahtMidsize sedan · 2001-2010
A bigger body that is more comfortable on long trips than a small car, but you have to accept an older year.
Check Toyota has recalled cars from these years to replace the airbag units. Give the chassis number to a Toyota service center and check whether the replacement has been done.
Isuzu D-Max and Mitsubishi Triton
75,000-100,000 bahtPickup · 2003-2012
Not many show up at this budget, and they have usually been worked hard.
Check Most pickups have done hauling work. Check the chassis, leaf springs and cargo bed for twisting or rust.
The price ranges on this page are approximate asking prices collected from used-car listings on the market in early October 2026. They are not agreed sale prices, and they are not this website's valuation. The real price of each car depends on the trim, mileage, condition and history. Owners selling their own car often ask less than professional sellers.
How to choose at this budget
- Pay cash. Lenders often will not finance cars this old, or charge very high interest.
- Keep about 20,000 to 30,000 baht aside for tires, the battery, a full set of fluids and whatever turns up in the first month.
- Check the tax and inspection. Old cars must pass an inspection before the tax can be renewed every year. If the tax has lapsed for several years, there are fines.
- Have a garage you trust look at it before you pay. An inspection costs a few hundred to a few thousand baht, compared with the risk of a 20-year-old car.
If you finance, roughly what is the monthly payment?
If you finance a 100,000 baht car with a 20,000 baht down payment, a flat interest rate of 6% per year and 60 monthly payments, the payment comes to about 1,700 baht per month. This is a rough figure for planning only. Real interest rates on used cars depend on the age of the car and the lender. You can change the numbers in the car loan calculator.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the best place to buy a used car for 100,000 baht?
Most cars at this budget are sold directly between owner and buyer, because the price margin is small. Look at listings from owners selling their own car, then go and see the car in person with someone who knows cars.
Can I get a loan for a car under 100,000 baht?
Mostly no. Lenders usually set a maximum car age they will finance, and cars at this budget are older than many of them allow. Plan to pay cash.
